2014 Competition Results

The Rochester Chapter congratulates Betsy Hahm (first prize) and Jaelyn Morgan (second prize) on their prizes at the recent high school piano competition.  Both students will receive scholarship funds to begin organ lessons with a teacher of their choice. Betsy is a sophomore from Hilton, NY and Jaelyn is an eighth-grader from Marion, NY.  Our judges for the competition were Joe Werner, James Douthit, and Howard Spindler.

The competition was held at the first Presbyterian Church of Pittsford on May 10, 2014.  The competitors played two pieces each and then they joined audience members and family for a demonstration and tour of the Taylor & Boody Organ in the loft, given by Bruce Frank.  We concluded the event with refreshments and the prize announcement.
